I'm Shai, a photographer and director, based in Berlin since 2001. Alongside my work in film production, I've shot for magazines, in reportage and in fashion, and exhibited in group and solo shows.
I don't think a portrait has to strip anything away. Whatever you bring into the room, whether nerves, humor or a pose you've practiced, is part of the picture. What I bring is openness, attention, availability and no judgment. You don't have to be anyone in particular.
After a long stretch of commercial work, I'm back to where photography started for me, and I'd like to invite you to make a photograph together.
